Spain: Freshuelva and the Diputación launch a campaign to boost the national consumption of berries

Cranberries, raspberries and blackberries from Huelva can be sampled for two weeks on large surfaces in Madrid and Barcelona.

Association of Producers and Exporters of Strawberry of Huelva, Freshuelva, and the Provincial Council, through the Office Huelva Company, have launched a campaign to promote berries onubenses to boost their consumption in the national market. The promotional action will take place over two weeks in different Carrefour supermarkets in Madrid and Barcelona. The public will be able to taste almost 500 kilos of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, the products object of this promotion.

The manager of Freshuelva, Rafael Domínguez, has highlighted the importance of the agreement signed with the provincial institution, which has made possible the launch of this campaign to publicize the quality of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries that are produced in the Huelva province, as well as its abundant healthy and nutritious qualities.

Rafael Domínguez has insisted on the need to expand the market paths of Huelva products. In this sense, he pointed out that the national market is "one of the outstanding subjects, above all, for these lesser-known berries, since for the strawberry this consumption is increasing every year, although still the Spanish consumer presents many possibilities for the commercialization of the red fruits of Huelva".

The manager of Freshuelva has encouraged the consumption of some products that, "in addition to being outstanding for its flavor and for the enormous culinary qualities that they present, they possess very advantageous qualities for health, such as the improvement of circulation or the prevention of cardiovascular diseases".

For the vice president of the Diputación and deputy responsible for the Huelva Business Office, José Luis Ramos, this agreement is part of the support of the provincial institution to a sector "strategic for the economy of the province of Huelva", With which the Diputación collaborates continuously, both in commercial actions and promotion and attendance at fairs, such as Fruit Logistica and Fruit Attraction.

The distribution of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries in Huelva in a large shopping center such as Carrefour, in the two main capitals of our country is, according to Ramos "a great incentive for consumption, in addition to a powerful campaign that enhances the image of our products and the Huelva brand in the national territory".

In this regard, he assured that he trusts that this action will have an excellent reception and will contribute "that these red fruits that are produced in the province, until now less known, also become a benchmark of quality and excellence as strawberries from Huelva, recognized all over the world".
