Trends: Apps for agriculture ...

App is not just the abbreviation of the word application, and it is very possible that very few do not know what we mean when we say App. Everyone who has a smartphone, tablet, or other type of mobile device, uses some types of mobile App on a daily basis. Many of them are installed by default, while others have to be downloaded from different sites.

There has been a great mass of these applications for mobile communication devices and they are not always known in the right way, there are certain confusions. An App is a software application, without a doubt, but it is to install it on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets, and they aim to help the user in a specific task, be it entertainment, service, or professional help for their work. Not so webapp, which are not installable.

There are many types of these applications and they are used to inform us about the news of the world, or of each country and region; to communicate with people or groups, such as WhatsApp; for entertainment or games; for commercial promotions, and for different data and services, even to find love. Agricultural App

The agricultural world is not a big consumer of these App, but there is a wide variety of options for these services for the farmer. The use of the App in agriculture has been growing over time as its use becomes widespread and science researches and develops new service offerings. Currently there are some that are already used and have proven their effectiveness, as ID Weeds, which is an application that allows you to identify all types of herbs or weeds that are found in crops. The App identifies them according to their characteristics of color, shape, habitat, root system and other characteristics

Another application to manage the field is the FarmLogs, which allows to quickly correlate the boundaries of the field and obtain historical information, and in real time on each field, including rainfall data, soil maps, yield maps and estimates of crop growth.

AgMobile, in as much, is an App that offers a great variety of information, including markets of basic products, news and climate. Among its many features are local quotes and grains graphics, cutting-edge farming news, live market comments and technical analysis.

In the case of SoilWeb, is an application that uses the GPS of the phone to indicate the type of floor on which a user is located. It allows to explore deep levels of information about soils. The application reports almost everything that needs to be known about the land of the property, including the type and its taxonomy, the classification of the land, the hydraulic aspect and the flood. It also reports on organic matter and other data.

Tank Mix Calculator, is an App that generates an exact mix of the products needed to spray an agricultural field. The application shows the number of loads needed to apply in the field and shows them a list of 14 thousand products, as well as format and style changes.

Wunderground It is not strictly an agricultural application, but it is of interest to climate-conscious farmers, those who want more detailed weather data on their phones, or who have their own weather stations. The service is distinguished by its network of over 180.000 personal weather stations.

Canopeo, is a quick measurement tool for canopy green cover, or tree foliage, and facilitates soil reforestation by suggesting the percentage of live green vegetation cover for your crops and grasslands, helping you monitor crop progress and make informed driving decisions.

The App Bean Cam uses the green light spectrum in your phone camera to estimate soybean standards, and the GPS Area Measure calculates and provides accurate information of area, distance, angle and volume. All these necessary data to be used in the spraying of the crop, calculating the area that has already been sprayed, which allows it to continue tasks from the exact point where it was abandoned in the previous day.

All of these App are free and available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Some include premium versions or purchases, and must be updated to the needs and conditions of each region or country.
