"The Seville Seminar will be a technical and technological boost to the cranberry industry"

There are many instances and meetings related to the blueberry industry that are being carried out, but focusing the cultivation in different ways or covering only some aspects of the cranberry production process. This is the case of Spain, which in the coming days will have two major meetings related to the production and management of berries.

The 19 and 20 in June will be held the 5 ° Congress of red fruits, which addresses more commercial aspects of the cultivation of berries, and then Thursday 27 June, which will be the XVII International Seminar of Blueberries in Seville, which will mainly cover the technical aspects of cranberry cultivation, addressing issues such as:

  • Physiological concepts for its production, coordination of aerial-radical growth in blueberry plants.
  • Pruning.
  • Necessary characteristics in the new varieties.
  • Use of rootstocks.
  • Organic and conventional nutrition in blueberries.
  • Mechanized harvest.
  • The impact of technology on the packaging process.
  • Hydroponic production in blueberries.
  • Considerations and management of blueberry production under cover.
  • Use of growth regulators in blueberries with low cold requirements, among other topics that will be addressed.

There are great expectations regarding the International Seminar of Seville on Thursday 27 in June, because the industry is threatened by new skills and is the opportunity to learn about new technologies and new research to differentiate, be more productive, adopt new methods, or to know new aspects of the treatment of the crop that allow to be more competitive in the international markets.

The quality of the international rapporteurs also allows us to nurture these great expectations. Due to this, in addition to the Spanish assistants or from nearby countries, there are many Latin Americans who will attend the meeting, in order to know about these new knowledge and technical tools, because definitely the Seminar of Seville will be a technical and technological re-boost to the cranberry industry.

The meeting will be held this June 27 at the Meliá Lebreros Hotel in Seville, for registration and more information: blueberriesconsulting.com/seminar-spain-2019/
