April 19 International Seminar: Chilean Researcher Bruno Defilippi is appointed Associate Editor of a prestigious international scientific journal

The researcher expert in postharvest of the Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), Bruno Defilippi, was selected to integrate the editorial committee of the journal Postharvest Biology and Technology, the most important in Biology and Post-harvest issues in the world, becoming the first researcher South American to assume this position.

An important professional achievement has been achieved by the researcher and head of the Postharvest Unit of the INIA La Platina Regional Research Center, Bruno Defilippi, when he was appointed as the new Associate Editor of the journal Postharvest Biology and Technology, PBT, of Editorial Elsevier, and indexed in ISI (International Scientific Indexing), one of the most important publications on biology and postharvest issues worldwide.

As of this year, Bruno Defilippi is part of a select group of international professionals who are in charge of assigning reviewers for this scientific journal and also decide if a particular paper has sufficient theoretical or scientific merits, and if it is able to be published.

This is the first time that a South American researcher obtains this important position. In total there are five Associate Editors, who manage and manage the publications reviews on postharvest topics. In this way, the INIA researcher joins the editorial committee, made up of researchers from Europe, the United States, China and now, South America.

The editor in chief of PBT, Prof. Bart Nicolaï, welcomed Bruno Defilippi to the editors' team and expressed his enthusiasm to collaborate with him. Regarding his appointment, Defilippi was very pleased with the option of being considered Associate Editor and assures that this is a merit of the work of his post-harvest team and also means a recognition of the contribution of INIA in scientific research and development, both in Chile and in Latin America.

Bruno Defilippi Bruzone is a blueberry expert researcher who actively participates in the activities of Blueberries Consulting and is one of the main rapporteurs of the next International Seminar that will be held in conjunction with the INIA at Grand Monticello on April 19.
