Chile: «Delegar, es la solución a los problemas de los productores arandaneros»

The Chilean blueberry campaign ended with good results, although in the beginning, the advance of the harvest alarmed the producers and put Chile in a difficult position with low prices. It was the increase in demand that saved this campaign, which was reinforced by the continuous promotion campaigns carried out by the South American country.

Faced with this trend of productive growth and progressive increase in demand, the need for commercial and logistical support for producers is also awakened. "We saw that the potential exists, but many times, due to lack of time, producers may lose business opportunities. So we thought: why not support them and work together to do business internationally"Said Rashid Rustom, Manager of Chilean Food Export SpA, a company of the Rustom y Asociados Group.

Logistical and commercial issues can be a headache for producers, who in turn have an innumerable amount of years of experience and management in the field. "While we have a couple of months in this business, we have many years of experience that give us the security to make it work. The need for fresh products by the international market is clearly present and the possibility that Chile offers for the agreements it has with the world are opportunities that no producer should miss ", Rustom stressed.

In just 3 months have managed to enter the Asian and European markets, making excellent commercial relationships for the placement of fresh and frozen blueberries."The next destination is the Middle East, although it is a conventional market, because we need to offer organic fruits. This was not an impediment but an impulse, we already have producers who offer this fruit, now we just need to send it. Soon we will start with the raspberries, so we are just starting. If there are interested producers or importers, they are welcome ", the spokesperson finished.
