United States: Organic cranberry imports up

According to information prepared by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), imports of organic blueberries in the United States market have experienced significant growth from USD $ 2.9 million in 2011 to USD $ 117.4 million in 2018.

In terms of volumes, USDA statistics show that organic blueberry imports increased from 605 metric tons in 2011 to 16.031 metric tons in 2018.

The entity indicates that Chile, Canada, Mexico and Peru lead exports of organic blueberries globally

In this regard, it is important to note that in the latest Crop Report of the Chilean Blueberry Committee, so far in the 2018-2019 season, 13.301 tons of organic Chilean blueberries have been exported to the different markets of the world. A figure that shows a strong growth of 33% compared to the same period of the previous year.
