Great attendance had the First International Seminar of Blueberries held at the Monticello Conference Center

The representatives of Blueberrieschile.cl were very satisfied for having achieved the objectives that were proposed when organizing this Seminar, always aiming to "Relate the different actors of the blueberry industry and share national and international experiences to put them at the service of the needs of Chilean producers."

Around 350 people attended on Thursday 28 of August at"First International Seminar of Blueberries: New technical and commercial trends of the industry" organized jointly by Blueberrieschile.cl and AGQ.

The activity was carried out impeccably throughout the day at the Monticello Conference Center and was attended by dozens of producers, exporters, consultants and experts in the most diverse areas.

Among the attendees could be distinguished a significant number of foreigners in the most varied functions, from advisers, technicians or experts, exporters, representatives of input companies for agriculture and correspondent journalists for international media.

The foreign attendees from Asian countries, mainly China, who together with Spaniards, Mexicans, Colombians, Argentines, Ecuadorians, North Americans, Peruvians and Chileans took the opportunity to share realities and establish multiple business contacts.

During the long day, the most diverse topics that concern the development of the cranberry industry were discussed, from the business opportunities in the different markets, productive management oriented to quality, vegetable nutrition, to the best technology options and inputs that would allow increase the quality of our fruit.

Academics from the University of Chile and Talca, together with various representatives from national Research Centers, shared with the attendees their research on pests and diseases, pre-harvest and harvest management, and post-harvest optimization, among other topics.

International experts from Spain, Mexico and the United States shared their experiences in fertilization, irrigation, management and application of technology in their production processes, highlighting elements that may be useful to apply to our own production process.

The conversation was permanent and fruitful among the attendees, establishing contacts and networks in the perspective of sharing resources for a national industry of the most developed blueberry and according to the new world scenarios.

It was a long day full of high quality content, delivered by the exponents and by the participation of the public, which was highlighted in the rounds of questions, including extending this conversation to the moments of coffee break or lunch.

It was a very successful first meeting, not only in the large number of attendees, but also in the importance of the contents and the quality of the exponents.

The representatives of Blueberrieschile.cl were very satisfied to have achieved each of the initial objectives that were proposed when organizing this Seminar, always aiming at "Relate the different actors of the cranberry industry and share national and international experiences to put them at the service of the needs of Chilean producers", in a comprehensive look to face the development of the cranberry industry in Chile.
