Areas in production of blueberries from Valle and Pampa agro-investments will grow 500% this year

In this year, Agroinversiones Valle y Pampa, will have 36 hectares of blueberries in production, which will represent an increase of 500% compared to the 6 hectares that they produced last year.

This was reported by the general manager of the aforementioned company, Miguel Bentín, who pointed out that the previous campaign (August-December of the 2015) was the last small campaign of his represented and now an exponential growth is expected.

He stressed that you are 30 new hectares that will enter production this year would have a productive yield of 5 tons per hectare, however it is expected that within 5 years, when they enter their maturity, yield 14 tons per hectare.

"The 36 hectares that will be producing the 2016 are in their entirety of the Biloxi variety, but in the 2017 they will enter into production 10 hectares of more blueberries, which will be of the Emerald variety", He said.

In this regard, he explained that Agroinversiones Valle y Pampa has a total of 46 hectares destined for this crop, which are installed in the district of Humay, province of Pisco (Ica).

2015 campaign
