According to industry projections, the Peruvian blueberry season is progressing
The progress of the 2024/2025 campaign of the Peruvian blueberry industry is extended over time and very much in line with its projections, although below past figures. The numbers up to week 37 are decisive in observing a slowdown in the season or a longer campaign than normal for previous harvests.
In total, as of week 37, 44.926 tons of blueberries have been shipped to the different markets, which is -7% below the 2023/2024 campaign and 1% above the latest industry projections.
Of this total shipment, 42.296 tons correspond to conventional fruit, which means 1% less than in the 2023/2024 season and 2% more than recently projected. In organic fruit, 2.629 tons were shipped, which corresponds to -52% less than in the previous campaign and -14% below what was projected.
Companies
In week 37, 9.274 tons were shipped, which is 30% more than the 2023/2024 campaign and -2% of the last projection. In terms of shipments, the volume is led by Camposol, with 6.550 tons, which means 15% of the total. It is followed by Agrovisión Perú SAC, with 3.677 tons, corresponding to 8% of the total; Complejo Agroindustrial, with 3.455 tons (8%); Hortifrut Perú SAC, with 3.092 tons, (7%); Blueberry Perú Sociedad Anónima, with 2.562 tons, which means 6% of the total and Agroberries Perú, with 2.254 tons, which corresponds to 6% of the total. The remaining 52% corresponds to other producers.

Destinations
22.707 tons of Peruvian blueberries have been sent to the United States, giving them a 51% market share and 7% over the 2023/2024 season. 7.578 tons have been sent to China, which means a 17% share and 26% less than last season.
7.716 tonnes were shipped to Europe, with a 19% share and a negative variation compared to the 2023/2004 season of -17%. 2.701 tonnes were shipped to the United Kingdom, which corresponds to a 6% share and -19% of what was the previous season. 3.223 tonnes were shipped to other new destinations, which means 7% of the total shipped and 12% above expectations.
Spaces
La Libertad continues to lead the Peruvian industry's exports, with 21.049 tons, which represent 47% of the total share, although -11% of what was sent in the 2023/2024 campaign. It is followed by Lambayeque, with 10.765 tons, with a 24% share and 77% over what was sent in the previous season.
Then there is Ancash, with 4.920 tons, which means 11% of the total and -1% of the last campaign. Ica, for its part, has sent 4.044 tons, representing 9% of the total and 33% less than what was sent in the 2023/2024 campaign. Lima, for its part, has sent 3.021 tons, which corresponds to 7% of the share and 44% less than what it sent in the last campaign, a very similar case to that of Piura, which sent 574 tons, which corresponds to 1% of the total, but 59% less than what it sent in 2023/2024. Moquegua sent 442 tons, which corresponds to 1% and -9% of what it had sent previously. The case of Arequipa stands out, which has sent 111 tons, with 98% of what was sent in the last season.
