Improvements in the blueberry pre-shipment program for export to the US.

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, Senasa and USDA-APHIS signed an addendum that streamlines certification in our country.

Buenos Aires - The phytosanitary services of Argentina y United States agreed to improvements in the Blueberry pre-shipment program that streamlines its certification in our country for export to the North American destination.

During a virtual meeting held today, authorities of the National Service of Health and Food Quality (Senasa), led by their President Carlos Paz, officials of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-APHIS) and the Committee of Producers and Exporters of Fruit to the United States (COPEXEU), signed an addendum to the work plan for the blueberry pre-shipment program that makes it possible to carry out official certification in Argentina in conjunction with the US phytosanitary service.

In this way it is possible increase predictability in bilateral trade, by facilitating the entry of this product to the market of United States, who concentrates more than 60% of the 10.255 tons of Argentine blueberries exported to the world.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that this achievement is the result of the articulation actions that Senasa has coordinated for more than 35 years, within the framework of the bilateral cooperation with the United States and public-private synergy with COPEXEU, to enable the development and execution of pre-shipment programs for export to the North American country linked to regional economies.

Likewise, the North American representation expressed its satisfaction with the fluidity in the exchange with the Senasa areas and the confidence obtained through the optimal results achieved in the implementation of similar agreements.
