Argentina: Closed again the INTA Frost Control Service
For the nineteenth consecutive year, the local Agency of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology, will begin with the Frost Control Service, a system that offers rural producers the possibility of receiving an alert on the climatic situation and the probability of frost that affect the peaches and blueberries.
More than one hundred producers of the region have registered in the Service that covers the area between Zárate, Baradero, Ramallo and San Nicolás.
The notice will be issued through Facebook, Twitter, SMS and WhatsApp.
Carlos Zanek, responsible for the area of Agrometeorology explained: "At the end of the winter rest, the peach and blueberry plants become susceptible to being affected by the late frosts that occur in the area. This sensitivity increases as the phenological stage of these fruit trees progresses, until reaching the critical point of fresh fruit set".
Those who want to register for the Service, may do so through the 1160994541 phone or by e-mail to eeasanpedro.clima@inta.gob.ar.
