Driscoll's appoints new vice president of public affairs

The company is bringing on Darci Vetter to strengthen its government affairs efforts in a context marked by increasing regulatory and commercial challenges globally.

Driscoll's announced the appointment of Ambassador Darci Vetter as its new Vice President of Public Affairs. Based in the Washington, D.C. area, Vetter will report to Chief Executive Officer Soren Bjorn and will be part of the CEO's office, supporting the company's alignment on government affairs across its various global regions.

Vetter is a renowned international public policy leader with over two decades of experience in government, the private sector, and non-profit organizations. Throughout her career, she has advised various institutions on issues related to agriculture and international trade, contributing her expertise in managing complex political environments and understanding the workings of global systems that impact food and agriculture.

“For the past several months, Darci has collaborated with us as a consultant, working closely with several of our senior leaders,” said Soren Bjorn, CEO of Driscoll’s. “Through that work, she has brought thoughtful perspective and a clear understanding of the evolving global political landscape that shapes our business. As our company continues to grow globally, this expertise will become increasingly important.”

Previously, Vetter served as chief agricultural negotiator at the Office of the United States Trade Representative. She also held the position of deputy assistant secretary of agriculture, where she oversaw the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service and its global programs for market access, food assistance, and capacity building.

After her time in public service, she assumed executive leadership positions as head of global public policy at The Nature Conservancy y PepsiCowhere she worked on managing issues related to agriculture, climate, energy, health, and packaging. She currently continues to advise companies, non-profit organizations, and international bodies on aligning public policies and market incentives to support agriculture and global trade.

“Whether it’s immigration policies, packaging requirements, or new tariff regimes, Driscoll’s business is at the intersection of multiple regulatory initiatives,” Vetter said. “I look forward to working with this talented team to ensure we are better positioned to influence this dynamic political environment.”
