“Effective communication of the value of Huelva berries”, one of the great challenges for the future

Victoria Martin, Plusberries, encouraged "to tell what we do, because when we have told everything we do they have been amazed" and has called for the union of the sector to strengthen marketing

The image of berries that is projected inside and outside of Huelva was another of the main issues up for debate at the third Red Fruit Night. Even on labor, according to Juan Banez, CEO Platero's Cradle, there is an erroneous view. «On some occasions I have even heard from some unions in Huelva that we had enough manpower and I have been perplexed because that situation is not real.

It is a concept that must be fought very seriously and really made known to society in order to increase production and compete with the rest of the countries.

Enrique Munozat Strawberry of Palos He assured that "in Europe there is a concept of urbanite, typical of people who live in cities, who do not know what is happening in our fields. That is causing us to be contaminated by what political parties, associations, a series of third countries, a black hand, I don't know.

They tell him a lot of atrocities about us. And we have a serious problem against that. Something we have lacked for many years has been being able to defend ourselves through effective communication and a good marketing plan.

Juan Manuel Vivas, of Fruta de Andalucía, pointed out that "that final consumer is inoculated with a virus that is flying around Europe, when if they really knew the reality of what is done here and how it costs us to produce each kilo of product in a sustainable way, they would change the concept of what red fruits are.

He explained that even people in the province “see only appearance. So, if we can't get our neighbor to support us in critical moments, how is someone a thousand kilometers away going to do it? For this reason, he pointed out, "we have to start creating a positive image in our environment, selling what we really are here so that they can later protect us abroad and anticipate crises."

Victoria Martín, from Plusberries, He encouraged us to "tell what we do, because when we have told everything we do they have been amazed." He has called for unity in this sense "so that we make videos and tell the consumer, our neighbors and all the people around us in a unified way how we work in the sector."

A challenge for which entrepreneurs like Joaquín Malagón, from Hudisa, has called for “real union, at the level of associations. Since we should agree and work on an issue as important as marketing.

Ignacio Hernani, head of the commercial division of the Port of Huelva, also wanted to contribute his vision of the sector from international fairs.

«To sell the product abroad they would have to strengthen marketing. “Unify the brands abroad to offer more powerful marketing on the stands of international events,” he stated. Likewise, he highlighted that the ship is still considered when putting it at the service of exports, "but you ask for immediacy for which maritime logistics is complex.

However, we continue working on the maritime connection for foreign markets," he noted. In addition, he took the opportunity to advance the important role that the upcoming opening of the Frío del Puerto Logistics Hub will also play for red fruits in the future.
