Eureka Sunrise Blueberry Variety Wins Superior Taste Award for BerryWorld

BerryWorld has announced that the blueberry variety Eureka Sunrise, from the Mountain Blue varietal program, has been awarded a Superior Taste award by the International Taste Institute.

Grown exclusively in Europe and Africa by BerryWorld growers, Eureka Sunrise blueberries earned a jury score of 86.5% and received a two-star Superior Taste award, becoming the twelfth variety in the BerryWorld portfolio to receive this recognition.

“We are delighted to receive this award; recognition of our global strategy to offer the best premium red fruits throughout the year; varieties that ensure a sustainable future for the berry category, performance for growers and constant compliance with consumer quality expectations. From the beginning, Eureka Sunrise showed superior characteristics, so we knew it was going to represent a significant change in the blueberry market," he says. Adrian Olins, Divisional CEO of the BerryWorld Group.

Eureka Sunrise is currently grown by BerryWorld grower partners in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Spain, Portugal and Egypt, where commercial plantings have started. As the Moroccan campaign progresses, the BerryWorld team is confident that this exclusive variety will continue to be praised by experts and consumers alike.
