Peru: Exports of blueberries totaled more than US $ 28 million on 2014

In the 2014, Peruvian exports of blueberries totaled US $ 28.341.710, which represented an increase of 86.6% compared to the dispatched 2013 where it amounted to US $ 15.184.167, published AgrodataPerú.

In terms of volume, the specialized portal said that last year 2.361.809 kilos was exported, registering a growth of 75% compared to the 1.349.479 kilos sent by 2013.

During the 2014, the behavior in blueberry shipments was as follows: January 292.616 kilos (US $ 1.893.654), February 270.810 kilos (US $ 1.845.679), March 91.104 kilos (US $ 1.053.635), April 15.474 kg (US $) were exported 125.713), May 21.041 kilos (US $ 92.030), June 13.392 kilos (US $ 142.417), July 17.173 kilos (US $ 217.967), August 138.525 kilos (US $ 1.634.302), September 361.572 kilos (US $ 4.983.659), October 376.751 kilos (US $ 4.551.240), November 684.778 kilos (US $ 8.035.314) and December 388.365 (US $ 3.766.100).

Main destinations markets

In the 2014, the main destination market for Peruvian blueberries was the United States, to which the 44% of the total exported was destined (US $ 12.6 million), followed by the Netherlands with the 23% of the shipments (US $ 6.6 million), Hong Kong 21%, United Kingdom 8%, other markets 4%.

Likewise, the main export company of the so-called "blueberry" was Talsa, with shipments of U $ 14.8 million (52% of the total), followed by Camposol.
