In 2019, exports of fresh blueberries from Peru totaled US $ 820 million, showing a 48% growth compared to the previous year.
This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Jorge Montenegro Chavesta, who stressed that in 2019 Peru became the main supplier of blueberries worldwide, surpassing Chile, whose offices reached US $ 693 million.
He stressed that the main markets for the blueberry from Peru are: United States, which accounted for 57% of the total, Holland 22%, China 8% and England 8%.
"These four countries (the United States, the Netherlands, China and England) together accounted for 95% of the total exported in 2019," added the head of Minagri.
