AQSIQ technicians will carry out inspection of Argentina's blueberry production system

During the third week of November, technicians of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) will carry out the first inspection of the productive system of blueberries of Argentina.

As reported by the Argentine Blueberry Committee (ABC), the above occurs in the final stage of opening the Chinese market for the export of fresh Argentine blueberries.

The National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (SENASA), the ABC and APRATUC, entity that brings together the blueberry producers of Tucumán, are coordinating the visit that will take place between the 22 and 30 of November.

The agenda includes the visit to plantations and packaging in the provinces of Salta, Tucumán and Buenos Aires, as well as the Obispo Colombres Agroindustrial Experimental Station, SENASA Centro Regional NOA Sur, SENASA Central Buenos Aires and operations at Benjamín Matienzo airports in San Miguel de Tucumán, and Minister Pistarini de Ezeiza, among other activities.

Harvest advance - 44 week 

The ABC also reported that 44 tons of blueberries arrived in the different markets in week 1.925. Of the total, 1.234 tons were destined for the US, 277 for the United Kingdom, 329 for Continental Europe, 68 for Canada, and 17 for Asia and others.

In addition, by ship 50 tons that arrived in the 48 week.

"The estimate of the ABC for the 44 week was 1.999 tons, in tune with reality"commented the ABC in its latest report.

"Rains between Friday and Monday last in Tucumán, possibly will result in a reduction in the volume predicted for the 45 week", Agregó.
