How are blueberry exports from Chile, Peru and Argentina?

With the Chilean blueberries adding to the already existing offer of the Southern Hemisphere in the international markets, Peru, Argentina and Uruguay have also shown interesting movements that we will review in this report.

Chile, which began its season at the end of September, has exported 229 tons until the first week of October, according to reports from the Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies, ODEPA. Of this volume, 116 tons were shipped to China, 40 tons to the US, and 31 tons to Japan.

The prices for the blueberries of Peru, Argentina and Uruguay in the last 2 weeks (39 and 40) have oscillated in US $ 36-37 / box 12 × 6 oz. on the East Coast. These are the initial prices of the southern hemisphere season and are about US $ 3 / box higher than last year, according to AMS-USDA.
