New Transport SA, a leading company in the supply of perishable products, sent the first official charter storing 85 tons of blueberries to New York (United States), which marks a milestone in the export of this product.

This first shipment belongs to the companies Talsa and Camposol, pioneers in this crop, said the website "americaeconomia.com".

In this regard, General Manager of New Transport SA, Martín Chávez, said that our country has become a very competitive market in terms of the export of blueberries, a sector that is constantly growing and has become a global trend.

He stressed that if we continue with the same growth as in recent years, our country could become the largest producer and exporter of blueberries in South America.

"The recent shipment we have made to New York will mark a milestone in the export of this product and that can even displace in a few years the grapes, asparagus and avocado from the first places in Peru"He said.

Likewise, he said that in the following 3 years this crop is expected to revolutionize Peruvian agriculture due to its high protein value, its high commercial value and its high labor requirement.

"In this context, we project that the cranberry export will maintain this growth, which in only 6 years went from 2,5 to 2.500 tons", Chavez finished.
