Peruvian blueberry exports to Saudi Arabia experienced exponential growth during the 2024/25 campaign, consolidating Peru's position as a key player in the supply of fresh fruit to the Arab market.
Between weeks 18 and 13 of the agricultural calendar, shipments reached 1,286 tons, a 308% increase compared to the 315 tons recorded in the previous campaign.
This strong growth positions Saudi Arabia as the ninth most important destination for Peruvian blueberries, reflecting not only a positive trend in product acceptance but also the impact of an export strategy focused on quality, continuity, and market diversification.
La Libertad leads blueberry exports to Saudi Arabia
The region of La Libertad was responsible for 70% of the total exported to Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its leadership in the sector. It was followed by Lambayeque, with 28%, and Piura, which contributed the remaining 2%. According to Fluctuante, these three regions continue to play a key role in the agro-export chain, especially in the berry sector.
The growth in Saudi demand is explained by the country's interest in diversify their food sources, combined with a domestic market with high purchasing power and preferences for quality fresh products.
In this context, Peruvian blueberries have stood out for their flavor, consistency, and traceability, characteristics valued by Gulf consumers.
Peruvian export companies gain ground in the Saudi market
Three Peruvian companies led the commercial advance towards Saudi Arabia. Blueberries Perú SAC. topped the list with a volume of 852 tons, representing 66% of the total shipped.
They followed Agrovision Perú SAC., with 156 tons (12%), and Hass Peru SA, with 153 tons (12%). These companies have been instrumental in consolidating the Peruvian blueberry as a preferred fruit in one of the most demanding markets in West Asia.
