The cultivated area of blueberries in Poland grows 45% in the last 5 years

Blueberry producers indicate that this fruit is currently the most attractive crop in Poland, according to the media "Puls Biznesu", adding that both supply and demand are increasing, and the same is true with respect to prices. .
«Some apple producers are introducing this crop, which is now one of the most attractive in Poland«says Michal Lachowicz, General Manager of the Appolonii company, which in addition to apples has recently begun supplying American blueberries.
«The market says that blueberries are a very profitable business, prices at the beginning and at the end of the season have driven the expansion of the fruit. However, a considerable investment is required, and investments must also be made in warehouses and cold rooms«added Ireneo Komorowski, president of the Blueberry Producers Association (SPBA).
In the last five years, Poland's blueberry area has increased by more than 45 percent, according to data provided by BGZ BNB Paribas to the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Food Economics. At present, the total area amounts to approximately 7.000 hectares.
