Networking and innovation

Networking and innovation consolidate Trujillo as a meeting point for the blueberry industry

The 42nd International Seminar of Blueberries Consulting brought together producers, technology providers, specialists and companies in the supply chain, who highlighted the value of networking, innovation and access to useful information for making decisions in an increasingly demanding industry.

Trujillo once again brought together the blueberry industry with the XLII International Seminar of Blueberries Consulting, which convened producers, companies, technology providers, researchers and specialists to review the main challenges of the sector.

Beyond the technical conferences, the meeting brought together different actors in the supply chain in one place, generating opportunities for networking, exchange of experiences and updates in an increasingly competitive market.

During breaks and while strolling through the exhibition area, that connection was clearly evident. Producers, consultants, and company representatives approached the exhibitors to learn about new technologies, get their questions answered, compare solutions, and initiate business discussions about management, efficiency, fruit quality, and campaign decisions.

Several questions raised at the conferences —fruit quality, production efficiency, climate change, genetics and markets— followed up later at the booths, where companies were able to showcase solutions and talk with decision-makers in the field, packing, export and services.

A space to connect the industry

For Avi Mileguir, sales director of TEFEN, the seminar stood out for its level of organization and the quality of the attendees.

“It’s a very professional and very important event in this world. The audience that attends is also professional; the topics are very well thought out for what the blueberry industry really needs,” he noted.

The executive explained that this type of meeting represents a relevant platform for presenting new technologies to the market, especially because it brings together a specialized audience with a direct interest in solutions that allow for improved productivity, efficiency, and crop management.

For supplier companies, this quality of audience allows conversations to move beyond a general presentation of products or services, and instead focus on the specific needs of agricultural and agro-export operations.

Information to help you make better decisions

Ricardo Ángulo, representative of TEFEN, expressed a similar opinion, highlighting that the Blueberries Consulting seminar has become a space where not only products and services are presented, but also high-value knowledge for the industry.

“Owners, operators, and specialists are invited. Information is shared here, and people who can contribute to the challenges the industry faces today are invited. This is vital because climate change, genetics, and market dynamics are advancing at a very rapid pace,” he stated.

Ángulo argued that the availability of up-to-date information is crucial for decision-making in an increasingly demanding global scenario.

“Today we no longer compete only with a neighboring country; we compete with the whole world. To remain relevant, you need information, and here that information is concentrated,” he added.

For several attendees, the value lay in finding in one place talks, suppliers, and useful conversations to compare trends, evaluate alternatives, and talk directly with specialists about problems that currently affect competitiveness. blueberry.

Networking that strengthens the sector

Tecnofil's general manager, Roger Espinosa, highlighted that his company has been participating in the events organized by Blueberries Consulting for several years due to the benefits they represent for the sector.

“We hope that this type of event continues to grow and reaches more cities across the country. The important thing is that it brings together the different players in the blueberry industry in one place,” he commented.

Espinosa highlighted that these spaces allow for firsthand knowledge of the new needs of the market and the development of products in line with the evolution of Peruvian agricultural exports.

At the booths and discussion spaces, suppliers were also able to hear firsthand what producers are looking for, what problems arise most frequently, and what needs are beginning to shape the next stage of the business.

From the packaging industry, Miljenko Radovic Holloway, commercial director for South America at A&B Packaging Equipment, also highlighted the value of the meeting as an opportunity to share experiences and stay updated on the trends that mark the development of the crop.

“It’s a very good event where many companies in the sector come together. It’s an excellent place to share experiences and stay up to date on all the issues currently being discussed in the blueberry industry,” he said.

The company has participated as a sponsor since the first events organized by Blueberries Consulting in Chile and Peru, precisely because of the importance of maintaining constant contact with clients, producers and other suppliers in the sector.

Innovation with a vision for the future

For his part, Nicolás Corbetto, general manager of Morpho, highlighted that the seminar has become one of the most important meetings for those who work in technology applied to agriculture.

“It’s one of the events that brings together the most blueberry producers in the region. We’re always happy to participate because it’s an excellent opportunity to meet not only with producers, but also with other relevant players in the industry,” he said.

Corbetto explained that the integration between technology companies, producers and specialists is fundamental to promoting solutions that allow for more efficient agriculture based on precision data.

In that conversation, technology ceased to be seen as a distant promise and emerged as concrete support for organizing data, anticipating problems, and improving field and management decisions.

In addition to trade and technology exchange, the seminar addressed topics relevant to the industry, such as the impact of the El Niño phenomenon, climate change, new varieties, the evolution of international markets and the need to adjust production strategies to a more dynamic environment.

The seminar once again demonstrated why Trujillo has become a key hub for technical and commercial discussions on blueberries. In an industry that competes on quality, efficiency, and timeliness, bringing together knowledge, technology, and contacts remains essential.

With this new edition, the Blueberries Consulting International Seminar reaffirmed its role as a meeting point for a chain that seeks to stay updated, connect solutions and strengthen the competitiveness of Peruvian and global blueberries.
