Camposol and Ninjacart bring Peruvian blueberries to India

Blueberry grower partners with Walmart-backed agriculture startup to distribute fruit to over 100.000 Indian retail outlets in over 100 cities
The main Peruvian producer of blueberries, Camposol, has announced that it has joined forces with Ninjacart to bring high quality blueberries to Indian consumers.
Camposol noted that the strategic partnership with the Walmart-backed agriculture startup sought to transform the blueberry market in India through Ninjacart's digital marketplace, technology-enabled supply chain and data-driven approach.
The collaboration aimed to facilitate Camposol's entry into the market through a curated strategy, using Ninjacart's expertise and data systems to drive accelerated growth, the group stated.
"Leveraging Ninjacart's extensive network of more than 100.000 retailers, the partnership ensures a reliable and consistent supply of high-quality blueberries, benefiting both consumers and retailers," the two companies noted.
”In addition, the alliance improves Camposol's operational stability in India through data-driven insights into volume, facilitating faster market access to additional cities and consumers.
Ninjacart also guarantees end-to-end traceability, reinforcing transparency in the safety and origin of premium blueberries for consumers,” they confirmed.
The partnership between the two companies was formalized with a memorandum of understanding signed on July 17 during an event in India.
The strategic collaboration aims to strengthen the availability of blueberries in India and also, in the future, foster stronger bilateral agricultural ties between Peru and India.
“Ninjacart’s strong presence and deep understanding of the Indian consumer will be invaluable in establishing Camposol as a leading blueberry supplier in India,” said Sergio Torres, senior vice president of commercial operations at Camposol.
“Leveraging Ninjacart’s market intelligence ensures a curated entry strategy that seamlessly introduces high-quality blueberries to the Indian market.

“Its extensive distribution network means that consumers across India will have easy access to fresh, premium blueberries through more than 100.000 retail outlets,” Torres continued.
“Together, we are poised to redefine the accessibility and perception of blueberries, ensuring consumers across the country have access to fresh, high-quality produce.”
Sharath Loganathan, co-founder and head of international business at Ninjacart, said the startup was “delighted” to announce its partnership with Camposol.
"As the largest Peruvian exporter of blueberries, Camposol's vertically integrated operations ensure that top quality products are delivered efficiently throughout its operations," he commented.
“Our strong connections with kirana stores, supermarkets, modern outlets, e-commerce/quick commerce platforms and Horeca partners enable global brands to seamlessly reach premium customers.”
The joint statement noted that in recent years, blueberries had shown significant double-digit growth in India, but there was a notable supply gap between imported seasonal consumption and domestic production.
This gap was mainly due to international exporters' limited access to Indian consumers, who also predominantly shop at traditional mom-and-pop stores, they said.
“This strategic alliance aims to improve knowledge and adoption, driving the growth of the segment,” the groups highlighted. “The collaboration ensures consistent and reliable supply, meeting the growing demand among Indian consumers.”
Camposol blueberries will be accessible through Ninjacart's network, which includes partnerships with major e-commerce platforms and city-level retail presence.
"Leveraging Ninjacart's efficient supply chain to minimize waste, these blueberries will be competitively priced," the companies added.
“This partnership is envisioned as a long-term collaboration aimed at establishing a sustainable blueberry supply chain across India.”
