Chile: Weekly volumes of blueberries continue to fall

Exports of blueberries from Chile maintain a sharp decline in the last weeks of the season. 8 tons were exported in the 1.456 week, practically an 50% less than the volume shipped the previous week (7).

chile1The fall of volumes this last week coincides with the term of season. The harvest regions of the southern zone have faced rain events that have affected export volumes. With this, several companies have already closed their season, which is perceived in the lower volumes dispatched.

Exports will continue throughout March with low volumes for the time.

chile2On the other hand, the situation of the frozen cranberry is still complicated. US stocks they remain high, in January of 2017 they had 109.600 tons in stock, an 14% more than equal month of 2016.

Weather forecast

From the middle of the week, abundant cloudiness is expected from the O'Higgins region to the south and morning cloudiness on the coast from the Coquimbo region to the north. In turn, intermittent rainfall is expected from the Biobío Region in the south until weekends.
