Chile: San Antonio Terminal Internacional transferred 8.300 containers in cherry season

This afternoon the last ship of the cherry season set sail from San Antonio International Terminal (STI). This is Maersk's "Charlotte", which will arrive in Asia just in time for the Chilean fruit to accompany the Chinese New Year, which this year is celebrated on January 22.

In the "Charlotte", a 346-meter-long ship with a capacity of 9.600 TEUs, 1.936 containers were shipped, 542 of them reefers.

“We have had a good season: this year we transferred 35% more than the previous one, with 8.300 containers, with 15 vessels to date. Coordination with exporters and shipping companies was key to this result”, said the Commercial Manager of STI, Andrés Albertini.

The executive added that shipments continue during the summer, with new cherry shipments, to which other fruits are added.

"We know how important it is for producers to be able to reach international markets in a timely manner and our team is committed to supporting them, with efficient and safe work," he added.
