Chile exports more than 55 thousand tons of blueberries this season
El Chilean Fruit Blueberry Committee He announced that, until week 2 of 2025, the country has shipped 55.946 tons so far in the 2024-2025 fruit export season with a peak of 11.767 tons in the first half of this year.
This accumulated volume for the cycle is 7% higher than the same week of the 2023/24 season and 18% lower than that of the 22/23 season on the same date.
These shipments are very much in line with the Blueberry Committee's estimate for the period, showing only a 2% difference compared to the forecast.
The offer by varietal groups has not varied. During week 2, group 1 (recommended and new varieties) had a share of 81%, with the 3 main varieties exported being: Legacy (45% of the total shipped to date), Duke (14%) and Blue Ribbon (12%).
During week 2, the organic portion also reached a peak with 1.855 tons exported, accumulating 6.759 tons so far in the development of the 2024-25 campaign, representing a 12% share of total Chilean blueberry exports this season.
As for destinations, these have maintained their share from previous weeks; that is, Continental Europe continues to absorb the largest proportion of Chilean blueberry exports, with a share of 41%; while the USA has a share of 35% so far this season. Meanwhile, South Korea and the United Kingdom remain in third and fourth place, with 8% and 7%, respectively.
