In 2020, global blueberry production was 1,388 million tonnes, an 8,7% increase from 1,277 million tonnes in 2019; Among them, the production of fresh fruit was 962.000 tons, which represents 69% of the total production; the processing volume was 426,000 tons and the processing volume represented an increase compared to 2019.

The commercial cultivation of blueberries in China started in 2000 and has only been developing for more than 20 years, but the speed of development is very fast. China's blueberry plantation is mainly concentrated in Guizhou, Liaoning, Shandong and other regions. China's top five blueberry production regions in 2020 are Guizhou, Sichuan, Anhui, Liaoning and Shandong, accounting for 24,5%, 14,4%, 11,5%, 10,1% and 9,5% respectively, and these five places together accounted for 70%.
