Driscoll's names Daniel Mathieson president of the Americas
Watsonville, California – Driscoll's, a global market leader in the produce industry, appointed Daniel Mathieson as president of the Americas. Mathieson, a veteran agribusiness executive, will lead Driscoll's largest business unit, overseeing all aspects of the company, from strategic planning to financial success. His strategic vision and capability development initiatives are expected to fuel the growth momentum that placed Driscoll's among the top ten U.S. grocery retail brands.
Mathieson is currently CEO of Zespri, the largest kiwi company biggest in the world, with multimillion-dollar annual sales that have grown significantly during his nearly seven years in office. Among his many achievements during his 21 years at Zespri is the implementation of a demand-driven strategy with a focus on consumer insights, distributor and retailer partnerships and marketing excellence, which has seen Zespri continue to grow both in volume as in value.
He increased the focus on accelerating the innovation process, sustainability outcomes and digital platforms, helped grow the Zespri brand into one of the largest in fresh produce, and passionately drove the Zespri culture focused on finding great people and support them to achieve outstanding results. Prior to assuming the CEO role, he held positions in operations, sales, marketing and business development at Zespri with locations in Asia and Europe.
