Blueberries Consulting's International Blueberry Seminars cycle is coming to Huelva this year

The Cranberry 2017 International Seminars cycle organized by Blueberries Consulting and AGQ Labs International will close its edition this year in Huelva. This province has been chosen as a reference for the production of this berry in the European and North African zone.

The convening of these working days responds to the idea that the globalization of markets implies having intercontinental knowledge of research, about the use of new technologies and specific local innovations.

These expert cycles began in the year 2014 in Chile and in these three years they have been spreading through various Latin American countries: Peru, Mexico and this year for the first time Argentina and Spain. This year, for the first time, there will be a leap towards European production through Huelva, a province in which cranberry production began a decade ago although the volume is incipient, it is expected to multiply in the coming years.

The Huelva program is still being developed as the appointment will be after summer, the November 09 in the municipality of Punta Umbría. The intention of this 9º International Seminar is to share experiences with Huelva blueberry producers as one of the areas of great projection in this crop, as well as its technological capacity and scientific work related to agriculture.

This year's International Seminars cycle is about to begin and will be held in the city of Guadalajara in Mexico on June 8 to analyze the new reality of the US market and move forward in the search for new destination markets, deepen knowledge and use of new postharvest technologies.

In addition to addressing substrates, hydroponics production challenges, varieties of commercial technical interest for Mexico, fertirrigation, nutrition, pests and diseases, pruning and organic or conventional crops.

Among the speakers: Colin Fain, José Antonio González, Tomás Gallardo, Iván Frutos, Víctor Rangel, Karen Ruíz, Douglas Rodríguez, Jorge Retamales and Bruno Defilippi.

The appointment of Peru will be in the capital Lima on June 13 day where it is intended to bring together the national sector of producers and industry that is characterized by having grown "at an extraordinary speed."

Julia Gamarra, Federico Beltrán, Walter Apaza, Patricia Estay, Juan Hirzel, Jorge Retamales, Nour Abdrabbo, Luis Luchsinger and Colin Fain will intervene here.

The American stage of the cycle will end in Argentina with the 8º International Seminar to be held on June 28 in the city of Tucumán. In this case, phytosanitary aspects, postharvest, knowledge and use of new crop protection technologies will be addressed, in addition to sharing information on transport and logistics.

The Argentine day includes visits to industrial plants for what counts with the most representative associations of the sector such as the Association of Cranberry Producers of Tucumán, Apratuc, and the Association of Cranberry Producers of the Mesopotamia Argentina, Apama.
