The blueberry sector filled the halls of the Lima Convention Center

The modern and imposing building located in the San Borja district of the Peruvian capital was filled in every corner by hundreds of producers, agricultural entrepreneurs, investors and different actors of the Peruvian and international industry.

More than 1000 people connected to the blueberry industry filled the enormous Lima Convention Center, participating in various talks and panel discussions, intensive business roundtables, and also attending the side rooms, where various specialists presented on the viability of the cherry crop in Peru, which was a guest crop this time.

10th Anniversary

The modern and imposing building located in the San Borja district of the Peruvian capital, was filled in all its corners by hundreds of producers, agricultural entrepreneurs, investors and different actors of the Peruvian and international industry, who gave a special framework of support to the XXXIV International Blueberry Seminar, which in this edition celebrates 10 years of being held annually in the city of Lima.

Painted blue…

“Lima was painted blue…” was the title of the article we wrote about that meeting in 2015, and we were certainly right, because Peruvian producers knew how to fall in love with a healthy and delicate crop, and they domesticated it until they obtained the best results from this wonderful fruit and became the undisputed leaders in its production and export to the world.

The event continues this Thursday, the 13th, for its second day, with a packed program featuring Peruvian and international commentators, and a large audience that enthusiastically participated in every aspect of the event.

“I remember my first trips around Peru, before organizing the first edition, visiting pioneering companies for the time and that were against all odds…and all the people who said it wasn't possible…and look at the results,” said the general manager of Blueberries Consulting, Jorge Esquivel At the opening, he added: “Today, to maintain and improve our competitiveness in the global marketplace, it is crucial that we adopt an approach based on the proper collection and analysis of data and the use of technologies throughout the entire production chain,” he stated.

The massive gathering continues today, then moves to Chile in April, Mexico in May, and returns to Peru and Trujillo in July, before concluding in Tangier, Morocco, in September.
