Peruvian strawberry exports totaled 3.271 tons for US$ 5.76 million in September

Peruvian strawberries were exported mainly in frozen form (94.2% of the total share), with 2.966 tons valued at US$ 5.43 million.

In September 2024, Peruvian strawberry exports totaled 3,271 tons for US$ 5.76 million, reflecting a growth of +14.8% in volume and +13.8% in value compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the month analyzed this year, the price of strawberries from Peru experienced a fall of -0.9% on average, going from US$ 1.78 to US$ 1.76 per kilogram.

Peruvian strawberries were exported mainly in frozen form (94.2% of the total share), with 2.966 tons valued at US$ 5.43 million.

The remainder was processed strawberries (5.4%), with 301 tons valued at US$ 310.000, while fresh strawberries (0.4%) had a minimal share.

Strawberry shipments were receptive in nine markets. The United States was the main destination for strawberry exports (47.9% of total shipments).

This resulted in shipments worth US$2.76 million (1,611 tons at an average price of US$1.71 per kilogram). Canada came in second with US$34.8 million (2.01 tons at an average price of US$1,150 per kilogram). South Korea rounded out the podium with US$1.74 (6.0 tons at an average price of US$345,000 per kilogram).

Agrícola y Ganadera Chavín de Huántar SA led the ranking of strawberry exporters in September (28.6% of the total), with 937 tons shipped for a value of US$ 1.65 million. It was followed by Mebol SAC (22.2%) and Virú SA (14.3%). Shipments of this product abroad were made through APM Terminals (64.5%), DP World (33.9%), Euroandinos Port Terminals (1.6%) and Jorge Chávez International Airport (0.1%).
