Francisco José Gómez, re-elected president of Freshuelva for the next three years
Francisco José Gómez Macías, representative of the associated company SCA Moguer, the birthplace of Platero, has been unanimously re-elected as President of Freshuelva for the next three years, thus beginning his second term at the head of the Association, which brings together 95% of the berry sector in the province of Huelva.
With over 30 years of experience in the sector and belonging to a family of farmers, Gómez—also president of SCA Moguer Cuna de Platero—faces this new stage with determination: “I am taking on this second term with great enthusiasm and eager to continue working for the growth and unity of the berry sector in our province,” he said.
The election took place after the General Assembly appointed the members of the new Freshuelva Board of Directors. Repeat members include Fresón de Palos, SCA Moguer Cuna de Platero, Agromartín SL, SAT Grufesa, SCA Hort. De Bonares -Bonafrú, Doñana 1998 SL, Frutas El Pinar SCA, Fruta de Andalucía SCA, Fran y Lolo SL, Frutas Borja SL, and Algaida Productores SAT. FG SCA and Fresaflor SCA have also joined the board as new members, thus completing the current 13-member governing body.
In his first remarks after re-election, Gómez emphasized that the main challenge will be maintaining the unity of the sector to respond to common challenges: "Unity is our greatest strength. Only through cohesion can we successfully address vital issues such as water availability, labor, and the search for sustainable solutions for the soil."
