Blueberry industry: knowledge and vanguard to compete

The numerous applicants to the professional programs offered by the University of Almería and Blueberries Consulting prove the importance of continuous training in the blueberry sector.

The popularity of the fruit, given its high profitability and demand, has made the blueberry industry one of the most competitive, with rapid progress in science and innovation in its production process.

This reality seems to be understood by the various applicants to the blueberry irrigation and nutrition specialization programs organized by Blueberries Consulting and the University of Almería. Applications for the virtual professional training course were received from Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Portugal, among other countries, which will be carried out through the Agricultural Seminars portal.

Blueberries Consulting is a company with a long history of organizing international events dedicated to promoting innovation and sustainability in the blueberry sector. This company invited the University of Almería, a Spanish public institution recognized for its research centers, being a world reference in fields such as agri-food biotechnology and the environment.

After the success of applications, and to give a new opportunity to those who could not finish the process, the organizers decided to open a last admission period from September 21 to 23. To apply, you must upload to the platform of Agricultural Seminars the curriculum vitae, a letter of admission, the identity document (PDF or JPG) and documents that certify vast experience in the field.

International focus

Leading experts, academics and researchers will lecture on the topics covered by the diploma programs, and the highest academic degree, international expert level. The organizers of the event believe that both the experience of the speakers in the private world, as well as their knowledge of the different environmental contexts in which the blueberry is currently being cultivated, will provide a comprehensive approach to the content.

Those who attend the programs will leave with knowledge applicable to different parts of the world, where blueberry cultivation is gaining popularity.

Diploma and International Expert

The diploma course called “Conventional Production and Soilless Cultivation in Blueberries: Use of Substrates and Fertigation” is a 60-hour program that accumulates 8 academic credits at the University of Almería. This program is a prerequisite to obtain the higher academic degree of "International Expert Irrigation and Nutrition in Blueberries: Conventional Production and Soilless Cultivation", a certificate for which it is required to pass the diploma and a second block on "Nutrient solutions and management of fertigation in blueberries”, accumulating 150 hours.

Therefore, the International Expert program has a higher academic degree. The credits taken and approved by their students may then be validated for the master's programs of the University of Almería, only needing to meet the requirement of having a professional degree.

If you want to review more information about the content of the programs, go to the platform Agricultural Seminars. Remember that the last period to apply will be from September 21 to 23.
