Interfresa distributed 3.000 tubs of "health" on World Red Fruit Day
Berries to celebrate
The celebration this Monday of this first World Red Fruit Day, still unofficial, has received a great welcome from Huelva locals who today have found in their pharmacies, with the usual purchases of their medicines and other pharmaceutical products, a detail of health: a tasting of red fruits loaded with flavor and nutritional properties.
The distribution of red fruits
This has been the way in which Interfresa has wanted to claim, with the support of the Official College of Pharmacists of Huelva, the benefits that red fruits bring to people with regular consumption; in addition to the approval of the request that a few weeks ago made to the Ministry of Agriculture to intercede with the FAO and give a letter of officiality to World Red Fruit Day.
In this day, Interfresa distributed 3.000 tubs of red fruits -branberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries- to 15 pharmacies in the capital, which they have distributed among their customers along with information on their healthy propertiess.
Health benefits
As explained by the president of Interfresa, José Luis García-Palacios Álvarez, "in pharmacies what we find is health and elements for health, so what better way than to relate the consumption of red fruits with the improvement of health".
The interprofessional aims, with this action, to disseminate what red fruits mean in people's health: "Let it be known that, through red fruits, as an essential element of the best nutrition that people can have, it is a source of absolute health and with scientific support", García-Palacios stressed.
Staying healthy via diet
«Official support from FAO would mean recognizing something that farmers, many consumers and medical professionals, scientists and pharmacists have already known for a long time: that in red fruits we have an inexhaustible source of benefits for our body: antioxidants, anticancer agents, anti-inflammatories, antithrombotics, and that it is Huelva who promulgates it before the FAO is to be proud of, "he added.
For his part, the president of the Official College of Pharmacists of Huelva, Jorge Juan García Maestre, added that “pharmacy and health are always linked; I am convinced that the medicine of tomorrow will be a preventive medicine and based on this, red fruits are prevention for health, a way to stay healthy via diet ».
