Weather delays drive Ukrainian blueberry prices to new highs
At the end of last week, Ukrainian producers began harvesting blueberries in open fields, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. This year, the season started approximately 10 days later than in 2024 due to abnormal weather conditions in late spring. However, current blueberry prices at the source are still higher than at the same time last year.
To date, the supply of domestically grown blueberries on the Ukrainian market remains quite limited. At the same time, demand for this berry is considered to be relatively high. Wholesale batches of open-field blueberries are currently sold at 300-450 UAH/kg (7,17-10,76 USD/kg) An increased influx of blueberries from Ukrainian farms is expected starting next week.

Despite the gradual decline in prices in this segment, blueberry prices on the Ukrainian domestic market remain, on average, 2,6 times higher than at the beginning of the 2024 season. Producers attribute this price difference to a reduction in the total harvest volume, caused by unfavorable weather conditions during the berry ripening period.
