Morocco closed the 2025/26 trade campaign as the second largest supplier of blueberries Fresh produce from Finland, with 657 tons and a 16,2% share of the Nordic country's imports, according to Finnish Customs data compiled by Global Trade Tracker.

The advance coincided with a sharp expansion of Finnish imports. Finland surpassed 4.000 tons for the first time. blueberries Imports were up 62% compared to the previous season, completing its third consecutive year of growth.

Moroccan exports of blueberries Exports to Finland exceeded 6 million euros in 2025/26. The volume was nearly 40 times greater than that recorded in the previous campaign, a high variation that also reflects a very small comparison base.

The growth propelled Morocco to second place among Finland's suppliers, behind Spain.

The monthly evolution allows for a more precise observation of the weight achieved by Moroccan supply. Shipments from Peru, Chile, and the Netherlands increased from January onwards, while Morocco began to gain ground in February, coinciding with the rise of Spanish supply.

In March, the blueberries Moroccan imports accounted for over 32% of Finnish imports for the month. The highest monthly volume was recorded in May, with 180 tons.

The trend shows that the 16,2% achieved in the campaign as a whole does not fully reflect the weight that Morocco had during the central months of its offer.

Growth is reaching several suppliers

The Moroccan advance occurred within a market that considerably expanded its import volume and in which other origins also increased their shipments.

Spain maintained its leading position among suppliers, while the Netherlands and Chile increased their exports to Finland. In contrast, Poland and South Africa lost market share during the campaign.

The data therefore show that Morocco's growth coincided with a general expansion of Finnish imports and was not solely due to changes in supplier share.

Increased Moroccan presence in Northern Europe

The advance of blueberry This coincides with a greater presence of Moroccan fruit and vegetable products in Nordic markets. During the same season, Morocco doubled its direct tomato exports to Finland and became Norway's main supplier of raspberries and blackberries.
