Mexico: 200 tonnes of Michoacan blueberries were exported to China
The General Director of Plant Health, Francisco Javier Trujillo Arriaga, informed that after Chinese agricultural authorities visited the municipality of Los Reyes, they decided to export to that country about 200 tons of blueberries produced in this region.
In an interview, Trujillo Arriaga mentioned that Mexico has sought to improve guidelines and techniques, which has generated confidence in Middle Eastern nations who have shown interest in fruits such as apple, orange and lemon.
Regarding the quantity of tons of blueberries that would be sent to China, he commented that in the first instance they would be at least 200, which would go fresh and not dehydrated as they do in other states, and then send more according to the demand for the fruit.
As for the resources that will be allocated for this year in the field of health, he said that an amount similar to 2015 is expected with a total of 172.6 million pesos.
