Tests of Simply Fresh SCE sachets in "berries"
20/01/2016
Since 2015 Simply Fresh BV has been producing sachets (SCE) and filters (FCE) for testing ethylene. SCE stands for “ethylene control sachets” and can be placed in small packet boxes of berries or in boxes with vegetables, fruits or flowers. FCEs, or “ethylene control filters,” can be used in cold rooms and trucks.
The trials in berries show that SCE envelopes affect life very positively thanks to:
• to the neutralization of ethylene
• to the prevention of fungal growth.
• to the prevention of fungal growth.
The trials in the Netherlands in several known importers and several Spanish producers show that the berries accompanied by an envelope SCE have a useful life a 40% longer than those that are not accompanied by envelope. The image is a graph of the trials with blueberries at room temperature, in which it can be seen that the fruit with sachet has a shelf life of at least 3 more days. Other berries show the same results
