Peru: blueberry exports grew in the first two months of 2019
These figures are higher than the 7.501 tons shipped in the same period of 2018, for a value of USD 42.9 million.
According to the portal Agrodata Peru, the main destination of these shipments during the first two months of this year was the United States, where placements were achieved for USD 55 million, followed by the Netherlands with USD 9,6 million, the United Kingdom with USD 7,7 million, China with US $ 2,6 million, Canada with USD 661.976, Spain with USD 575.114 and others with smaller amounts but together they added USD 526.528.
Meanwhile, among the main exporting companies in the field were Camposol SA, responsible for 28% of the total of these offices, Hortifrut-Tal SAC with 26%, Hortifrut-Perú SAC with 15%, HFE Berries Perú SA with 6%; Hass Perú SA and Tal SA with 4% each, among others.

According to the weekly report of production and exports of the Committee of Blueberries of Chile, elaborated with figures of the Association of Exporters of Fruits of Chile (Asoex), from information of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), the Chilean exports of blueberries fresh per week 11 (11-17 March) reached an accumulated volume of 110.794 tons slightly higher than exported last season in the same week. Of this total, 13.301 tons correspond to organic blueberries, which experienced strong growth in this campaign of an 33%, compared to the previous year.
According to the same report, the distribution by destination market was 58% for North America, 29% for Europe and 12% for Far East. Compared to the previous season, shipments to Europe grew by 6.600 tons and the Far East by 303 tons, while for North America exports were reduced by 6.167 tons.
