Zero waste: Sant'Orsola blueberries arrive

Certified and already on the market. The novelty reinforces the world of small Italian fruits in international competition

The first zero residue Italian blueberries , produced by Sca Sant'Orsola. They are a novelty for Italy, they come exclusively from the Sicilian and Calabrian fields of their partners who grow American giant blueberries of different varieties on more than 50 hectares, mainly the Ventura. At the time of their collection they do not present residues derived from the use of phytosanitary products, in full compliance with the provisions of current legislation and they are certified. For the first time, the consumer finds in the gondolas the clean and tasty fruit as guarantee of high quality standard.

Italian blueberry

El blueberry-rz is on sale on a large scale, offering packages designed for people's increasingly green lifestyles. They can choose between the new plastic-free package 100 gr, the glossy glass of 100 gr or the basket of 125 gr.

Certificate in international quality

The Sant'Orsola production system is already certified according to international quality standards with Global Gap for good agricultural practices and Grasp for the health and safety of workers. In addition, as of 2020 the environmental management system is certified in accordance with the strict ISO 14001 standard.

“Our objective - explains Bortolini - is to link the economic and social sustainability of the agricultural cooperative to the environmental one, giving greater strength to the relationship between member, cooperative and consumer. In this sense, our members and technical staff must be recognized for their contribution to the purpose ”.

Zero Residue

El path to certification started a few years ago , choosing the particular and precise methods of protection and defense required, training the members of the Cooperative and guaranteeing them the continuous assistance of expert technical personnel. The rigorous and specific agreed production discipline guarantees, at the same time, to the producer partner, the protection of the crops, the high level of quality of the blueberry, the consumer and the Cooperative's brand.
