Despite being a young market, Ukraine is showing that it has great potential in the production of blueberries.

Since it was founded in 2010, Betec LLC has quickly become the largest blueberry producer in Ukraine and one of the largest in Europe. It currently has 325 hectares, but plans to continue expanding its area to meet the growing market demand.

«We export mainly to the European Union and the United Kingdom, but we would like to be open to all markets, which is why we want to extend our production season as much as we can. Of the 325 hectares that we have planted, 180 has production of varieties such as Duke, Bluegold, Bluecrop, Chandler, Liberty, Elliott and Aurora. With all these different varieties, we can extend the harvest from the end of June to the beginning of October«explains Andrii Borysenko, from Betec.

The company packages its blueberries in clamshell containers and tubs with lids, and has its own brand, called "Our Berry", with which it helps develop and promote the Ukrainian blueberry market.

«We have presence in the main supermarkets, such as Auchan, Fozzy Group and Rewe Group. In addition, we export our products to the UK and the Netherlands, and we respect and value our EU partners because we understand how important they are so that we can all achieve our common goals.«, concludes Borysenko.
