Latin American blueberry industry met massively in Guadalajara

The most important multinational companies linked to the blueberry industry, and the Latin American agrofrutícola activity, gave the framework of great presence and relevance to the hundreds of producers, technicians, advisers, investors and delegates of the most representative institutions of the agrofrutícola industry, both private and state, who attended the XII International Blueberries Seminar held last 28 and June 29 in the halls of the Hyatt Andares Hotel in Guadalajara.

Local seminars, international challenges

The one in Mexico was a massive meeting that crowned a semester in which the Latin American blueberry industry met on more than one occasion to raise a common diagnosis, contemplating a look at the current state of each of the local industries and establishing the collective challenges that must be faced.

In the different events there was access to know very good analysis regarding the current commercial opportunities for the export of the fruit. It took advantage of increasing and deepening knowledge about the management of the crop and learning about different geographical experiences, climate and soil. The results of their new observations were known directly to the researchers, in addition to having access to the offer of new and varied technological products that collaborate to obtain a higher productivity and quality of the fruit, the final objective of all producers and the industry in general .

New actors and new technologies

By way of data, the vast majority of the new orchards that are implemented in Guadalajara, are based on the concept of protected agriculture, with greenhouse technologies and the latest in substrates, bags and coverages.

The industrial cultivation of cranberry is a business that must take care of a global demand that grows an 10% annually, with high demands from consumers and international markets. We must not forget that, although each country has its own realities, the blueberry has become a global crop, which every day more actors are integrated, and in Mexico it grows noticeably. Guadalajara and Jalisco is the area with the largest amount of planted hectares, but new areas such as Michoacán, traditionally dedicated to the cultivation of avocado or avocado, are quickly converted to blueberry cultivation. Many of these new producers were present at the recently completed Seminar, learning about the management of the crop.

This growth is so noticeable that the inaugural words of Julio de la Mora Razura, delegate of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (Sagarpa) of Jalisco, were: "Jalisco is Mexico, and that is due to the berries producers ".

A success via streaming

The XII International Seminar of Guadalajara successfully crowned a tour that began in April in Chile, being the most important industry and export leader. Then followed in May to Peru, for being the industry with greater growth in recent times, to finish it in the Mexican tapatías lands, which are covered with greenhouses under which are projected endless rows of bags with blueberries grown on substrates.

It was a massive meeting, very intense in all its development, with great participation of the attendees who interacted at all times with the experts and with an excellent organization in all its aspects, especially in the communicational, transmitting via streaming each of the moments most relevant and interviews with the most relevant attendees or sponsors.
