Peru secured access to the Egyptian market for exports of blueberry fresh, after more than a year of technical efforts led by the National Agricultural Health Service, SENASA, together with the Central Administration of Plant Quarantine of Egypt.

With this new destination, the blueberry Peruvian exports have reached 76 international markets, expanding their commercial presence and opportunities for domestic producers. Egypt, in particular, represents a market of over 120 million potential consumers.

The Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Marco Vinelli, highlighted that the opening of the Egyptian market reflects the technical work developed to expand access for Peruvian agricultural products to new destinations.

Blueberries gain ground in agricultural exports

The growth in production destined for international markets has been significant. Peru went from having approximately 2.000 hectares in 2016 to more than 20.000 hectares certified for export in 2025.
