Camposol doubles its blueberry shipping capacity with a strategic expansion at its Chao plant
La Libertad, August 27. — Camposol, one of Peru's leading agricultural export companies, today inaugurated a new 1,000 square meter facility in its fresh produce dispatch area in Chao, a project designed to strengthen its blueberry storage and dispatch capacity for the coming years.
The expansion doubled the finished product storage capacity from 48 to 92 full container loads (FCL) and increased daily shipping capacity from 15 to 30 containers per day, after expanding from 3 to 6 loading ramps. This means the plant can now ship twice as many containers of Peruvian blueberries to international markets each day.
The project also expanded the raw material reception area, from 3 to 4 ramps, and incorporated a new entrance door for trucks with already refrigerated fruit, coming from the Yakuy Minka Collection and Cooling Center — reinforcing the cold chain from the field to the dispatch.

The decision to expand is part of a proactive strategy: Camposol projects that the demand for Peruvian blueberries will continue to grow in the coming years, and sought to have its infrastructure ready before that growth becomes necessary. The project was completed in five months, finishing in July of this year, without interrupting plant operations.
“This expansion is the result of a proactive decision: we know that the volume of Peruvian blueberries will continue to grow, and we wanted our infrastructure to be ready before that growth catches up with us. It’s an investment in the future of Camposol and in the people who make our operation in Chao possible,” said Ricardo Naranjo, CEO of Camposol.
“Completing this expansion without interrupting operations during the five months of construction was a coordination challenge for the entire team. Today, this plant is ready to support Camposol’s growth in the coming years,” said Javier Mejía, Operations Manager for Peru.
The project also included a new 150-square-meter entrance area for the plant's operational staff, which improves access conditions for workers.
